Meet the clinician

Colette Gomez, LMSW owner/clinician
Colette has spent her career working with individuals across the lifespan. In 2005, she graduated from Lake Superior State University with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. She then obtained a master's in social work from Texas State University in 2015. Colette is passionate about helping people heal from trauma and specializes in working with adults who have experienced trauma. She is trained in EMDR, a trauma specific treatment process that aids in processing traumatic memories.
Colette is a life-long Michigander. She was born and raised in a rural community in Central Michigan. Colette and her husband now reside in Northern Lower Michigan where she enjoys volunteering at her church, crocheting, gardening and spending time with her husband, daughter and three rescue pups.

EMDR Therapy
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing. This type of therapy was developed to help individuals who have experienced trauma to address that trauma and it's symptoms in a safe and measured way.
Adult Individual Therapy
The most popular form of therapy, individual therapy is completed one on one between a therapist and a client. Often there is one or more goals that are developed by the client and these sessions are centered around interpreting barriers in one's life to achieving these goals, overcoming those barriers and developing positive coping skills to managing life stressors.
